Is the procedure painful?
We have a range of options that depend on the power settings for your procedure and your sensitivity to pain. Many patients do well with the application of an anesthetic cream 30 minutes before therapy. For people who are more sensitive to pain, this can be supplemented with oral medications prior to treatment. Patients who have experienced other methods of skin resurfacing typically remark that this procedure is significantly less painful and has a much easier recovery.
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
There is some expected downtime of the treatment which includes some redness and swelling but this usually subsides within three to 10 days. You are advised not to expose your skin to direct sunlight and keep your skin moisturised as it heal with a cosmecutical post treatment balm.
When will I notice results?
Results being seen after one treatment of the procedure is to be expected however for long term results and true collagen formation 8 weeks post treatment is generally a great guide to go by.
What areas can be treated?
Areas that are ideal for treatment are the face, neck and decolletage and ageing on the hands.
Will I need maintenance treatments?
As healthy human beings, we will continue to age and many patients will elect to have periodic treatments to maintain or improve their appearance once a year.
How many sessions will I need?
1 - 2 treatments can be discussed depending on patients skin concerns. Maintenance treatments may be recommended in your initial skin consultation.
Is there any home care required for The Melrose Bright & Tight procedure?
All patients undergoing the procedure must be using corrective post care to ensure harm or infection is controlled. Patients also must be prepped for a few weeks prior to the appointment on a minimum tyrosinaise inhibitor. An SPF is also a must with this procedure.
